I met my ex-husband while we both working together in 2012. He was a maintenance man and I was a cook. He was married at the time, but we were just coworkers and then things fell apart for him with his marriage. He ended up moving into a hotel and that when we started hanging out t and next thing I knew I was offering him a place to stay with me and my 2 children. He was an acholic and a manipulator and as I found out very early on a cheater as well. I can't tell you how many times I found other women's bras and panties in our home
or how many times other woman would message me letting me know he had hit on them. He would never post about me on his social media. If he did post it was depressing. I got charges for a DUI and spent time in jail. He worked as an HVAC engineer and made lots of money, but it was always his money, and it never went towards rent or food. I was the one who had to pay for everything. If I said anything he had this way of turning it around on me by letting me know that I was fat, ugly, lazy and that no one wanted me and I had nowhere to go and no one cared about me. So, I stayed quiet and drank with him to make myself feel better. He finally got a divorce from his wife and that's it became worse for me. Instead of just mentally abusive, it now became physically abusive to the point where I thought he could and would have killed me a few times. I would leave him and then I would go back and then I would leave again and I would go back again, and it became a cycle. I ended up getting a 2nd DUI and spent even more time in jail and on probation and attended treatment this time. I ended up signing my rights away of my 2 children. I had not only court fines and UAs I was needing to do but DCFS was involved now and if I signed my rights away my mother could adopt them. Which she did and they are amazing kids and she's done an amazing job on raising them along with my stepfather! They are the best parents I could have given them! He and I ended up getting married in 2018 as a threat to him that he either marries me like I'd been hearing for the past 6 years or I'm leaving. After we were married, nothing changed.... except me. I decided it was time to grow up and make something of my life, and he was intent on drinking his life away. I finally left him for the last time in 2020. He passed away in 2022 due to cirrhosis of the liver.
